Data Recovery Software?

I have erased the wrong partition (30 GB). All files are still there but
hidden...
Is there any free recovery software that enables me to get the files back? I
mean "within and with the folders"...
I know someone who used an expensive commercial program. It did the job, but
renamed all 20,000 + files and neglected all folders!
Any hint is appreciated.

Look for a program called Active@UNDELETE, worked better than Easy Recovery
for me. Easily found via E-mule or similar.

If you have not copied anything to the partition after erasing it I
think Handyrecovery (http://www.handyrecovery.com/) can restore files
"within and with folders". There are also a couple of other freeware
recovery tools but I have used Handyrecovery successfully many times so
I can recommend it.

When you start to recover your files/folders do not forget to recover
them into another partition.

If you have erased whole partition so that the partition table has
changed then you will need another type of program.
