Data points on Line graphs

I am attempting to plot line graphs but there are periods in the data that i
wish to exclude from the line that joins them, is there any way to not join
two points, but have them remain visible on the chart. ie leave gaps in the
data line?

1. You can manually format the individual line segment between two points.
Click once on the series, then once on the line segment, then right click >
Format XXX, and remove the line.

2. You can insert a blank in the worksheet data (not a formula that returns
""), and make sure the chart is set to leave gaps in the line for blank
cells (Tools menu > Options > Chart tab).
