Data Execution Prevention

My pc is about 2 months old and seems to have a problem with the dep and
downloading real player. About a week ago, i tried downloading it and then
restarted the pc as told to do so. Now i cannot access my computer, search,
find folders, the control pannel or the recycle bin. It comes up blank and
says the dep thing doesnt think its safe to do so and then prompts me to send
an error report. The annoying thing is that evrything else works on the
computer! Help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Control Panel -> Add/Remove program
Uninstall the "Real Player" crapware.

Then , Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore
to restore your system to a previous state exactly as it was before.Restore
to some days before you installed Real Player.

Your system should now be OK . Never again install Real Player crapware.
Regards!

Ok, What is the exact error message you see? You mention DEP in your post's
subject title and then don't mention it in the post. So what exactly are you
seeing?

What is your current DEP setting? (right-click my computer, properties,
advanced, performance settings, Data Execution Prevention).

I'm always surprised at "professionals" who STILL have to be asked "Have you
checked (event viewer / syslog)".
