Data entered in one record is appearing in other records as well

Two users in a multi-user Access 2000 database with shared backend and
per-user front end, are simultaneously editing a non-overlapping set of
newly-created records.

For more than one field, data typed into one record has appeared in the same
field of another record in addition to the place where is was entered. In
three cases, the field value was duplicated and in one case it was tripled
(appeared in three records instead of the intended one only). The remaining
fields of the records in question do not seem to have been affected.

Record locks for the form are set to Edited Record and the 'Open databases
using record-level locking' option (from the Options>Advanced window) is on.

Can I provide any more details that might help?

Any ideas/suggestions/solutions appreciated.

It sounds like one or both of your computers do not have all of the latest
service packs installed.

See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;303528.

You need to have all of the latest Office, Windows, *and* Jet updates
installed on all computers running the database. Getting them out of sync is
one of the biggest causes of corruptions.

Good luck.
