Data Encryption Error - Remote Desktop Connection

Could someone please help me with this problem? I get
the same error every time I connect to my XP Pro from an
XP Pro machine. "Because of an error in data encryption,
this session will end." I have no idea how to resolve
this problem.

Please install the latest client from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/rdclientdl.asp and try
connecting to the server again. If you still have any problems, check the
event viewer on the server to see if you have anything related.

Also, if i remember correctly there is KB article related to this. If I find
it, I'll post it here.

I was curious if you ever found the "KB" article. There
was nothing in the event view other than a printer driver
problem but I turned off that stuff and it does away. I
am current on patches to XP Pro SP1 continue to have this
problem.

One additional piece of information, I have a
SoundBlaster Audigy xGamer card installed. I have
changed the sound settings to "Not play" and frequently I
get the data encryption error when the sounds are
played. But it's not 100% repeatable.

I was working on the same error. If you have a Linksys router you're working
through update the formware and try this note I found on the web:

I was getting the same error with my Linksys router. I have made a few
setting changes
and now it works:


Block WAN Request: Enabled
Multicast Pass Through: Enabled
IPSec Pass Through: Disabled
PPTP Pass Through: Disabled
Remote Management: Disabled
Remote Upgrade: Disabled
MTU: Enabled Size: 1500

Never mind. Worked for a while and thought I had it, but the same problem
comes up. Have scoured the web, MS and Linsys support and am getting
nowhere.
