Damaged files

Thanks for the reply,

I have tried all that you recommended in your last post
and the ssystem does seem to start loading new files or
at least checking the condition of my files.

It all runs very smoothly untill it gets to the point
where it is checking a certain item .

My screen confirms that it is 'Configuring Com+...'

At about 30% of the way through the uploading bar my
cdromm stops and the whole system just hangs .I left it
for over 60mins with no further progression .I then have
to reboot to be able to use any keyboard command.

Have you any tips they may help me out ?

Check that your CD image is actually not damaged?
