D:\ Drive Not in "My Computer"

Hello. I switched HD's when the original one went out in the Dell Dimension
8200. BIOS recognizes everything on primary and secondary cables, but drive
D:\ doesn't show up in "My Computer." It's listed as an active drive in disk
management and I can access its contents. XP Professional was formerly on
the disk, but I reformatted to try to get the disk recognized, but no luck.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

you need to use disk management and assign it a drive letter
