Hi - I'm running WXP Pro. I tried to empty out my Recycle Bin today, and got
an error message for one file, preventing me from deleting it due to
"cyclical redundancy check". I restored it and then tried to rename it to
see if that helped, but I could not rename it, getting the same error
message. I couldn't find anything in the MS Knowledge Base for this term.
Can anybody tell me what happened and how I fix it? Thanks for your help.
Whit

Greetings --

This error usually means that the disk is defective, or the file
in question is irretrievably corrupted. I'd suggest that you run
Chkdsk to ensure that your hard drive and file system are OK.
