Cwshredder problems? Safe place to download msconfig.exe?

Since Microsoft.com kindly doesn't offer it, and it' not included
in Windows 2000, where can one get it and be assured it's not infected?

I've been using a copy from an old Winme installation disk and now I can't
find the disk. Cwshredder keeps finding cws.msconfig on my computer (and
I'm not sure it's a false positive).

Extract a new copy from the CABS folder,
C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS

FYI, I've seen recent complaints in the forums that:

<quote>

CWShredder removed 80 legitimate redirects from the current MVPS HOSTS
file. Their choice of items to remove is curious - it removed redirects
that would have prevented access to several coolwebsearch servers.

This app has turned into nothing more than window dressing for whoever
buys it. Its been effectively neutered since its sale. I did a Google
search for it last nite, trying to find some instances where it
removed an infection, and was hard pressed to find anything after the
sale to Intermute.

I have removed CWShred from my system as it is no longer of any value to
me.

The original is kept in c:\i386 on all Windows systems as msconfig.ex_
Use the expand.exe command line tool to expand it into your
c:\windows\system32 directory.
