We are having an issue with cut and paste within XP...that
the "clip board" does not allow you to show and select
which item(s) you have copied to paste when and where.
When jumping thru various applications, we never had this
issue when in a 95 or 98 environment. Anyone out there
experienced this issue? Please respond if you have a
knowledge to correct.

Thanking you in advance.

Can you disable the "office clipboard", and see if this fixes the problem?

This is different from the "windows clipboard". The "office clipboard" lets
you put more than one thing on it at one time. If you disable it, you can
still copy and paste.

The clipboard in XP - and it was the same in earlier versions of windows
- holds one item only (or set if you copy multiple objects to paste as a
whole), which is retained until you cut or copy something else

You must have been using some third party program (like ClipMate for
example) and will have to reinstall it

Tony,

The clipboard in XP operates exactly the same as it did in Windows NT,
98, 95, 3.1, and 3.0 ... and by recollectoin 2.0 and 1.0. Only "thing"
is there, and it "stays" there after a copy of placed. You can place as
many as you want. Works the same in all applications. You can see
what's in the clipboard with the clipboard viewer utility.

If you are seeing differences with XP, it's possible that with Windows
95 and/or 98 you had some other 3rd party clipboard utility working.
