Dear all.

I have been trying to do a screen dump, with cut and paste, in ppt to shop
students what menu bar will drop once I have opened it but I cant seem to
copy the entire screen. I want to copy it over to a ppt presentation does
anyone know how?

Regards

Pres PrtScn to capture the whole screen to the clipboard, or Alt+PrtScn to
capture any open window to the clipboard, then in PowerPoint, use the Paste
Special to dump your capture

Did you try the Print Screen key while the menu was showing?

If I understand correctly, the problem is that when you press the keys to do
the screen capture, it closes any open menus.

You'll probably need to use a screen-capture program to get around this. Most
of them let you do a "timed" capture; you fire off the capture command, they
give you xx seconds to get the screen set up the way you want it and when the
timer runs out, they grab whatever's on screen, menus and all.

There are quite a few of these programs around; some image editing apps
include the ability to do this (PaintShop Pro for example). The CorelDraw
suite of apps includes a screen capture utility. Snag-It from TechSmith is a
very capable tool that a lot of folks around here are fond of.

You can't capture a menu with Alt+PrtScn. Alt will cancel the menu.

I forget what version they started including it with, but you're looking for one of
the accessory apps called Corel Capture.
