Cut and keep borders

Running XL2000: If I have a table set up with borders and cut several cells
of data and paste it elsewhere, the borders in the source cells go away. If
I copy/paste, then go back and delete the source data, the borders stay.
How can I avoid this two step requirement?

I don't think there is a way to avoid doing this in 2
steps. Question is.. I ahh assume you're moving data like
this often as part of some work process.. why not
automate the job?
1. You can record a macro to do it if it's the same every
time
2. You can build the copy of data into the spreadsheet,
i.e. make the sheet more closely reflect your process.

Give us some more detail, maybe we can help you with that.

Here's one approach:
paint the source range and COPY twice (This will put a
stack in the clipboard and display clipboard contents).
Immediately DELETE the contents of the source and then
paste to the desired target range.

Copied range changes over time. This is a rare need.

2. You can build the copy of data into the spreadsheet,
i.e. make the sheet more closely reflect your process.

Not sure what you mean here, but I'd rather not alter my carefully layed
out sheet, because its current form is tightly tied to some macros.

Hmm... If you're talking about the Office multi-clipboard feature, I think
I disabled that some time back, never quite understanding its use or
usefullness -- before now. Thanks for weighing in.

I can understand opting not to use that clipboard
function BUT it would obviously be useful in THIS case
and there IS an advantage copying data to a clipboard
without wiping out its content each time. That is its
usefulness.
