Customizing ClickOnce Download Mechanism

Good day -

We'd like to deliver ClickOnce apps and updates via a BITS mechanism, and
understand it isn't built into the current release. We would like to replace
the OOB functionality with custom, using BITS to make ClickOnce useable in
our environment. How can this be accomplished? Documentation on the mechanism
seems lacking...

Hi,

There was some talk about using BITS in the early development of
ClickOnce, however, they decided NOT to use BITS due to the lack of
support for older MS OS's.

Hi Sayed,

Thanks for the reply. I am aware that due to the need to support Windows 98,
BITS couldn't be used as the mechanism. What I'm wondering is how to
customize the ClickOnce interaction so that I can myself insert BITS to take
over the delivery of the binaries.
