Customizing Accounts

Mark A. Sam

Hello,

I know this is a long shot, but I have several email accounts and would like
to be able to specify a signature and stationary for a particular account,
which is different from the Default Account.

Thanks for any help.

God Bless,

OL2003 (and possibly OL2002) allow you to set signatures by account.

Vince,

I'm using Oulook 2002 and can't see how to do it. Do you know how to access
the interface to set up an account?

See if it's here: Tools menu > Options > Mail Format tab. The Signature
section allows for account specific settings in OL2003

Outlook 2003 supports per-account signatures, but OL 2002 and earlier do
not. However, you can set up multiple signatures and just choose the one
you want when you send the message.

Thanks Brian,

I couldn't find a signature selection button to place an a toolbar like I
did for the signature. The only other way I could see to select the
signature is to go through too many menu items. It isn't worth the trouble.

Are you using Outlook's editor or Word as your mail editor?

Outlook's editor.

I don't have Outlook 2002 in front of me right this minute, but the
Signature button should give you the choice of which of your signatures you
want to include, either by way of an arrow to the right of the button or by
way of a menu selection when the button is clicked. I can check it at home
tonight, if you wish.

If you would, I'd apprecate it. I don't see anything like you are
describing.

Just to make sure, did you create a signature in Tools>Options>Mail
Format>SIgnatures?

I checked both Outlook 2000 (in C/W mode - I don't have an IMO mode
installation to test) and Outlook 2002 and they behave just like Outlook
2003. If you create one of more signatures using Tools>Mail
Format>Signature Picker (or SIgnatures), then the Signature button on the
Standard toolbar, just to the left of the attachment paperclip icon, will
show the most recently used signatures in the upper half of a split menu and
the item "More..." in the lower half. Clicking More will show all the
available signatures. If you don't have the SIgnature icon on the toolbar
(it's a little hand holding a pen and signing a document), you can
right-click the toolbar, choose Customize, and either manually add the icon
to the toolbar or reset the toolbar to its normal configuration, which
should also add the icon.

Thanks for yout time Brian. I was hoping to not have to select the
signature with each letter. I am going to send the letter from Access so
what I wanted is no longer necessary.

God Bless,

Mark
