Hi Everyone,

i have done some fair amount of searching, but couldn't
locate what i was looking for.

I need to customize a system message. Basically, when
user's passwords are about to expire, the system will
prompt for a change of password. Is there anyway i can
customise the prompt/message??

I need to customise the messages of this prompt to inform
users of certain information.

Anyone any ideas ??? Thanks a million.

Hi Matjaz,

thanks. I already had email notices running on my DCs. They are sending
email notices 21, 14, 7, 3, 2, 1 days before password expires. My boss wants
me to do the tough way. :-( Sad but i know its tough and i am lost.

Basically, i proposed using the LSA method documented in the Password Filter
example under the Platform SDK. But he thought it was too complex because i
need to sync the password to Domino, and was worried who will maintain if i
leave. So i did an alternative within Domino, to update Domino's password
and then update AD's password via a scheduler. I know this can be done
immediate, but he just wants the scheduler to be used. I simply cannot
understand.

So this expiring prompt is to advise users to go to that Domino web site to
change password rather than from within Windows. There is GINA in Platform
SDK, but i didn't have the expertise to go indepth into it. Is there anyway
i can simply add in the message from registry and have it display just like
the Windows password expiry prompt??

Really grateful for any advice...

Hmmm. I don't know of a nice way to do this, as this is hardcoded in dll's
in the system. You could edit the content of dll's but then you would have
to distribute this around the network.

Yup, just as i thought.
The GINA is one good example.
Shall tell my boss against this...

Thanks Matjaz
