Customise Date Format

G

Gerry

Presently have 27/05/2008. How do I format to get 27.5.08?

I have tried d.m.yy but it does not change.

Excel 2000.

TIA

Hi,

Go to format cells. Under Number tab you can see Date. Click that and
select the *14/03/01. Then select Custom and select dd/mm/yy and under the
Type you manually put dd.mm.yy

Try this.

Your suggestion may have got me a result. I will need to test a bit
further.

It has no effect on an existing 27/05/2008 but if you copy the value
equivalent to 27/05/2008 using Paste, Special, Value into a
preformatted cell it produces 27.5.08. Using Edit, Find I could make
changes but it is a long winded approach.

Thanks.
