Customer, Inventory, & Order Tracking in one database

First of all, MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone!

I am finding a need for a database that will track inventory for me. I
have looked at the templates returned by the below search:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/r...ustomer+order+and+inventory+combined+tracking

I really like the top 2 (Inventory management database & Orders
management database) templates. I like the customer orders of the second. I
like the supplier orders and inventory control of the first. I would like to
have these merged though. Does anyone know of a template that has this done
already? I could probably do it, but that would be a lot of customization in
one or the other to make it seamless.

TIA,

Not sure exactly what you needs are but there are off the shelf products
available that do this. The one that comes to mind is Quickbooks. It also
has a lot of other features and it's pretty reasonably priced. Might be
easier than trying to build one.

gls, thanks for replying.

I am looking for something simple. I am not going to be doing invoices,
billing, etc. Reports at the end of the month/quarter/year/etc can be easily
created or modified from what exists.

I am mainly looking for inventory tracking. The one template would do a
great job of tracking the inventory (which I think would be the base if I had
to manually combine the two templates), but putting in sales seems to be
weak. The second template seems to have great sales and customer tracking,
but has seems to have no clue about inventories.

I was really hoping that there was a template that had these two
combined already so I wouldn't have to go through the pain of combining the
one with the other.

TIA again.
