Custom Toolbar

I have a custom toolbar which uses the "Office Links" builtin commandbutton.
I need to detect when the button has been clicked on and I can find no way of
doing this. Is it possible? Any ideas
 
As far as I know it's not possible without extraordinary contortions. It
would be simpler to create your own commandbar dropdown to do exactly
what you want.
