So, if i want to have all tables that users inserted initially start as 6
cols by 4 rows with no border, i would create that slide and put it in a
templates? Then get them to delete it?
I guess the other option is to write a macro to format the table.

It's a common practice with PowerPoint authors to create as many "custom"
layout slides as they want. When such a slide is needed they copy the
"custom" slide and use it, leaving the original. The "custom" slides are
hidden as not to display in the show. When a copy is made, the copy is
changed to not hidden.
