Custom Screensavers?

I wish to use a home video of my children as my screen saver, and I
understand I'm supposed to place the video file inside the windows folder
containing the stock screen savers, but I cannot seem to find them nor the
folder in which they are contained. Could someone please tell me where I find
them or even if there is an easier method to making said video my screen
saver? And what file format it has to be, like .avi, or .wmv?

Search for *.scr and your will find screen savers.

But your videos are not .scr format so you need some application to turn
them into a screen saver.
