Custom paper size

I needed a custom paper size in word, I could set the size in word but not
for the printer so; I tried to add a custom paper size to my printer(s) by
going to the printer properties and preferences found the stock sizes but
could not add a new custom size.
Searched the KB found #838298 which said I needed to be an administrator,
I'm logged in as the administrator. 838298 went on to say must have SP 2 well
I do have SP2.

I ordered the "hotfix" however when installing it said a new version was
installed. However I added the ppd files to the system and system 32 folder.
did not help.

So How do you add a new custom paper size to my printer?

Check with the (unnamed) printer mftr.'s tech support. Advanced features
for printers come from the drivers, which are written by the printer
mftr., not Microsoft.

Tried that, several printers are envolved, Epson, Lexmark and Minolta. They
all said it was a Microsoft issue.

Your description doesn't sound like you are in the Print Server
Properties, Forms tab. That is where you make the custom form.

I go to the printing preferences of each printer, there is no print server.
Click advanced, paper it lists all the paper available but no custome.

If you had followed the KB article referenced you would go to
Start, Settings, R-click Printers and Faxes, Open, File, Server
properties, Forms, Create a new form.

That is what I need to know is how do I get the "cuctom" size, non of my
printers do. I was told that SP2 fixed the problem but I guess not.
