custom form not correctly displayed in the preview pane

Pierre Bru

hi all,

I created a custom form by modifing the default message and published it
in my personnal forms. what I did is shrink the "message" field to
insert a logo between the message field and the subject field.

when I send the page (event to myself) the form is correct when I open
the message but in the preview pane, I still have the default message
form without my logo.

how can I also have the preview pane use my custom form ?
BTW, the 3D effect check box on the message field is greyed and not
modifiable. it is not possible to remove the 3D effect from the message
field or emulate the message field in a (flat=no 3D) custom field ?

I use OL2K3/Exch2K3 and the form is based on the RTF version of the
default email but I can use html if needed.

TIA,
Pierre.

When you are in the design mode for that form, do you have "Separate Read
Layout" checked. (This can be found under the Forms menu.) If you do you
probably have not included that logo on the read layout. I usually don't
check this because it is too much trouble. But it is nice when you want the
initial form to be different than the read forms.

I do not know how to make forms accessible in preview.

I checked that and have a different "read" form: the "To:" field is not
displayed. but this does not fix the preview pane problem :(

Honestly, I find the preview pane annoying because it takes up too much
space. I have not found a way to display the form in preview. But we have
many custom views with the info you need about that particular form. We use
the auto preview to see what it is about. It works out for everyone here.
You do need to make sure that the message box contains info you need to see.
Often I require a subject and then move the subject to the message box so it
appears in the preview before the rest of whatever is added.

Good luck.
