Custom date format

A user here wants to key a date in as 112003 and not have
to key the slashes. I can create a custom date format
that will fill in - for her instead of slashes. The
problem is she then wants to subtract 1 from the date so
the entry in that cell is 11-19-03 instead of 11-20-03;
subtracting 1 results in 11-20-02 instead of 11-19-03. I
could work around this in a very long totally impractical
way, but I'm sure smart people in this group have a much
better way. Any ideas greatly appreciated!

There is no way you could just format the numbers and get a date
in excel that would work in any calculation using real dates.
112003 will forever be 8/26/2206 according to excel.
There are workarounds however, Chip Pearson has code
that will do it here
