Ok probably a crazy idea but I was thinking of making my own case.

Has anyone got any tips of making there own cases? Where can I get materials
in the UK?

How can I accuratly house the hard disks etc...

I have a lot of designs, but need some advice!

i advise you not to do it

there has to be a computer store somewhere in your area that can sell you
a ready made case inexpensively...
then you could customize it as desired

I'd gut a stock case and build around that.

Try looking up case mod sites like http://www.mini-itx.com/projects.asp.
The makers of these cases usually explain how they did it and where they got
the parts.
