no idea what has happened - b'grd now only White.
all the other color options still working fine- Text,
Visited/Unvisted & Hover, all OK.
contrary to A Naidu, I believe that the "ignore colors"
box in "accessiblity" should be checked.

interestingly, have found one page on one site, that DOES
respond to my background color settings!! It is a nasa
site page, (so it's clean!),
http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/bpp/, in case you're
interested. other pages on the site leave the background
going back to White. why??!! feel this is a
m'soft "created" problem, but what to do?!

have not looked at the "fix" mentioned, as noboby with
this problem who has looked seems to have been helped!

ok - have checked out kbid277008. this is not the same
situation, at all! I can get any website's own background
colors to show up ez, just fine/dandy. what I can NO
LONGER do is get my own, Custom background colors to
appear, except on the one page of the nasa. gov site!

I want my own b'ground colors back!!! HELP!!!

alright - if I refresh this Newsgroup page, I get a
momentary msg, (lower rt.) that says something
about "loading the newsgroup. this may take a few
seconds." this msg is surrounded by a large box, which is
just the color of my Custom Background Color. I changed
the b'grd color red/yel/blu and the box color went w/the
changes. Also, right now, to the left of the newsgroup
msg's there is a a left-hand blk line (vert. left
boundary). all along this line and down to the the point
just above the words "Contact Us" my custom backgound
color appears as a narrow vert line. it is also the color
of a thin horiz line just below
m'soft.public.w...inetex..ie6.browser and goes rt.
under "page" "Go" "of 616 >>"

so clearly, my custom b'grd color is registering
somewhere!!!
this bug appeared after I did a lot of Windows UPDATEs
just about a week ago!!! what gives!
