I’m having problems with animation stopping after my PowerPoint presentation plays for 3 to 4 hours.
My computer is an IBM 300GL 300Mhz 384MB of RAM running a clean install of windows 2000 and office 2000, video card is an NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400 with 64MB of memory.
There are two PowerPoint linked to each other as per instructions on http://www.powerpointbackgrounds.com/powerpointlinking.htm. One has 6 slides one has 4 slides. All slides have two html files linked using Shyam Pillai’s LiveWeb, one to a local Weather channel html file and the other to files created in Microsoft Word saved as html files. Each html file has 10 lines of text and one small clipart image. The only custom animation is each PowerPoint has one crawling text line on the master slide. There are no slide transitions. One PowerPoint is 135KB the other is 145KB.
I have noticed while the PowerPoint are running and before the animation stops, Task Managers’ performance information shows available physical memory drop a little for each slide. I have also noticed using Task Managers’ performance information, that animation stops when physical memory is depleted to 4.6MB and peak commit charge exceeds 332MB.
Do I have a setup issue, hardware problem, a limitation of software, a limitation of hardware? Is this a memory leak in PowerPoint or LiveWeb?
Please help with any solution or suggestions. I’m setting this up for our Local Public Access channel.
Thanks you,
