Cursor jumping

I don't know if any of you can help but it seems that
when I am typing sometimes my cursor will just jump up
into a previous paragraph or into the middle of another
word. Any idea what could be causing this?

If you have Speech Recognition enabled, that could be one cause. Another
frequent cause for users of laptops with touchpads is inadvertently brushing
the touchpad and moving the insertion point.
