Cumulative Update for Outlook Express 6

I downloaded and installed all the updates last night. All but the update
to OE6 downloaded and installed fine. But the OE6 failed to install. OE
was not open at the time. Because I have dial up on a Pair-Gained system
and 24k is my max speed (boohoo), I started the install and went to bed,
woke up four hours later and it was just finishing up. So I wasn't really
aware of any error messages or anything. It just said failed to install OE6
patch. Is there anything I can check out before trying the install again
(to save myself some frustration of waaaiiittttinnnggg for nothing?)?

Did you have your anti virus auto scan enabled when you did the
download/install? If so, try it again with it disabled.
