ctrl+shft+enter for entering formula

I was told to enter a formula using ctrl+shft+enter. What
does this do differently from a standard enter?

My main question is this: I am trying to get the "average"
from a range that consists of the same cell in multiple
worksheets but excluding blanks and zeroes. I was told to
use this:
=AVERAGE(IF(Range,Range))

which must be confirmed with control+shift+enter instead
of just with enter.

It works for summing a range on a single worksheet but not
across multiple worksheets?

See a possible answer to your earlier post. You cannot use array formulas
(ctrl + shift & enter)
with multiple ranges. I show a workaround in your earlier post.
