Hello,
CTRL D suddenly stopped working yesterday.
I can't save links to my booksmarks anymore.
Saving a lot of links yesterday and today. They are gone.
CTRL works initself as CTRL N works.
As I was writing this I discovered someting strange.....!

The links for the _last two days_ show up in the favorites sections of
my IE6.0.2800, but only them and there! The rest is gone from there.
While the rest show up in Favorites in the Documents and Settings section
on disk C, but not from the last two days.
What is happening. Could I have pressed some obscure button
combination yesterday??

It sounds like the location of your Favorites folder has changed.
Check your environment variable %userprofile% (enter the word "set" in a
cmd prompt). Under that folder, there usually is a Favorites folder. If
it does not match where you think your profile is, then it has possibly
changed. There are a few different things that can cause this, such as
an access problem with your profile folder - if you cannot access the
folder on login, it will create a new one for you, often with a .WINDOWS
or perhaps a domain name added to your username.

It may also be a change to the following registry keys:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell
Folders I have changed the location of my Favorites in the above
registry area myself, and there are a few things like TweakUI that can
do this as well.

CTRL d in the English version of XP is delete. You may be using a
different language version. (no)

You must be wrong:
In 'Windows XP Pro - The missing manual', 2003 Pogue Press p. 334 it
says: 'When you find a Web page you might like to visit again, press CTRL+D.
That's the keyboard shortcut for Favorites->Add to Favorites- but it's
better (etc.)...'
It's also just the same in Firefox and Netscape.

I would like to have other comments to solving the problem as I have the
problem still.

Actually "CTRD+D" is application specific. For instance, in Word it's
"Format, Font", in Powerpoint it's "Duplicate". I would guess that there
is something else interferring with or preventing saving to your
"Favorites".
