Ctrl-Alt-Del - twice - (for logging in as Administrator) needs some "triggers" to work...

Ctrl-Alt-Del - twice - (for logging in as Administrator) needs some
"triggers" to work...

If I log in as a user and then use WKey+L to go to the welcome screen,
then
Ctrl-Alt-Del twice doesn't bring up the old-style login screen for
logging
in as Administrator. If I log back in as the user and then logoff, then
Ctrl-Alt-Del twice works as advertised.

Actually, the logoff is NOT the only "trigger" that activates the
ability to use the "Ctrl-Alt-Del - twice" functionality. As far as I
could test, there are (at least) two more:
1. Reset: that is, when you reset your PC and no user is logged in you
are able to use the "Ctrl-Alt-Del - twice"
2. When you disconnect from a remote desktop. After disconnecting you
are able to use the "Ctrl-Alt-Del - twice".

Now the question is: WHY THE FAST USERS SWITCHING (WKey+L) IS NOT A
TRIGGER AS WELL?????

Could someone, please, help to find a way to enable this funcitonality
at W_XP?

You are still logged in when you do the first procedure. It is just a fast
way of hiding your desktop with the user having to re-enter credential to
get back in. It is just the default action of the Operating system. Been
able to log in as admin while there is another user logged in I don't think
is not what Microsoft what to happen.

Ctrl-Alt-Del login only works if nobody is logged in, in FUS there is
still a user logged in. It works as designed.

Sorry, but that is NOT true. Imagine I have three users and the
Administrator (that is hidden from the welcome screen). Now, I login
with two of them using fast switching, ok? At this moment I have two
users logged at the same time. Now, suppose I logoff from one user.
There is one still logged, right? In that case, I have what I've called
a "trigger" (a logoff event) and besides having one user still logged
in the "Ctrl+Alt+Del - twice" functionallity WORKS PERFECTLY.

I insist: IT DOES NOT WORK AS DESIGNED!!!! Unless someone REALLY meant
to do this.... nosense...

Still waiting a solution....

It does work as designed. The design goals were to allow a way to logon if MS didn't forsee all possibilities that might prevent logon from the Welcome Screen. It isn't meant for what you are doing. It is slated for removal once MS was sure the welcome screen worked.
