Every shutdown:

CTHelper32: CTHelper.exe application error.
The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000005) 0ccurred in the
application at location 0x0281bad7

Click OK to terminate the program.

It shuts down when I click OK.
What is the cause?
What is the fix?

Thanks,

CTHelper.exe is a plugin manager belonging to Creative. AFAIK, Creative
is still not producing very good drivers. Make sure you have that latest
drivers for your Creative sound card. If that still doesn't help, you
can try removing CTHelper from Startup although the information about
doing this gotten from Googling is contradictory as to whether or not it
is an essential process for the sound. You can always enable it again if
things don't work without it. Or check on Creative's website to see if
there is any information about it.

CT helper was UNchecked in MSCONFIG|START UP long ago here, and that
does not appear to have had dire consequences. As I recall, having it
enabled contributed to long start-up or shut down times.
