CSV in Excel

I have one field from a Word document that imports perfectly. Then, I have another field, separated by commas, that I would like to separate into different cells.....Is this possible? If so, how

Drop the field into Excel then use Data>Text to Columns>Delimited>Comma

Make sure you have ammple empty columns to the right so's you don't overwrite
data. Text to Columns won't warn you of overwrite(although there is always
"undo").
