CSS Will Not Load, IE or Firefox

Hi,

XP Pro SP2 machine. Latest updates.

CSS (cascading style sheets) will not load in browsers IE or Firefox (only
ones I've tried). So web pages appear only with the default fonts and
without any images or links that are in the CSS's.

Any ideas?

I've tried deleting all browser caches, history, stored password,
uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, unistalling/reinstalling Java. Disabled
firewall. Another pc on the same LAN works fine.

Thanks, Will

Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools > Internet Options >
Accessibility. Normally, all check boxes are empty.

Will, I had the same problem. I was running Norton Internet AV. Uninstalled
it and Firefox browser loaded and works great.

Thanks for the tip. This PC runs Mcafee. I can try uninstalling and
reinstalling it. Have to say I'm skeptical but we'll see. I've seen many
other pc's running it without that problem.

Also I notice there are .css registry entries. I'll compare them to a pc
that works and see if they are different.

Will update tomorrow pm. Thanks for any further clues.

Webbie, thanks for the tip, but in fact all check boxes are clear! Still no
style sheets will load, neither in IE or in Firefox.

FYI

It turns out style sheets were in fact loading, but they were being
partially overridden--images referred from style sheets weren't loading, and
text was displaying larger, other things too. The internet options
accessibility menu webbie mentions was all cleared, however, you gave me a
great clue---it turns out that:

Control Panel, Accessibility Options, Display, Use High Contrast was
checked, and clearing it gave us back the style sheets!

Thanks!
