Hi all,

Is it normal that the csrss.exe takes about 40% of cpu usage every 8
seconds?

Thanks,
Ivan

not really. there is a conterfiet file version of it which is actually a
virus / trojan. you can dowload a free file called processlibrary.exe when
launched it will put little ? marks on your task manager, then you can click
on it and it wil take you to the library and described the process. go to
microsoft.com and jot down the file size of csrss and match it to yours to
see if it is legit. if the size doesn't match then yours may have been
altered.....

you go the sites for processlibrary.exe and the microsoft page where you can
search for exe sizes?

Ivan

you can enter csrss.exe on this site and you can enter at microsoft.com you
can get free downloads on various sites. use a search engine and look for
free downloads or search for the process program mentioned....

checked with sfc /scannow and with my laptop. It seems like the valid file
but I'm not risking it... another format is on the way!!

Do you use that? I went to
www.malwareremover.com/processlibrary/exe.html and to tell the
truth, I don't like the looks of the site; something's just not
right.
