Called Sandisk and was told MS XP SP2 is the cause.
MS has'nt a clue, or I can't find it in the billions of records at M$

This will be my second Sanddisk product to be put on the shelf ,forever.

They dropped support for my last Smartmedia reader, in XP.

Fails on 3 Xp systems , all with SP2 installed. ( one is virgin XP SP2 load)

Will not be recognzised and locks up explorer when the cruzer is insterted.

if a solution is found, I will post to here.

Back to my trusty JAZ disks.

Strange...

My 1gb Cruzer USB is working fine with Win XP and SP2.
All drives, A through N came through SP2 with no problems.

Sandisk is full of crap. The Cruzer Mini works just fine on both of
my machines loaded with SP2. I have the same exact model (256mb) USB
2 Flash Drive.

If your Mini Cruzer died, it wasn't because of SP2. It was because
the unit was defective. Next time purchase another brand instead of
Sandisk but don't blame SP2 or let Sandisk give you a line of bull.

I too have exactlty the same models (256MB) and an older
128MB. Both run perfectlty well with SP2. There is a lot
of crap out there bagging SP2 and I can tell you most people
are just using it as an excuse for their own faults or
product limitations. Microsoft is doing a great job. It is
just the rest of the industry (based on MS) that has to get
their act together. !!
