Crosstab Query/Table Mystery

B

BCP

I have a table with five columns the first three are text the last two are
numeric. I have five rows of data in the table. I set the values in the
first three columns to the same values in each with cut and paste. When I
select the first four columns and sort column four is not in sort order. To
the degree the sort order is offf the Crosstab Query fails to get the data
from the rows. If I put less data in column three the sort and crosstab
query work fine. When the data in column three is greater than 73 the sort
is off less than 73 the sort works fine.

Any assistance/clues of something to look for will be much appreciated.

Note: I have rebooted my machine alreaty.

Some guesses:

1. The database is corrupt. Try opening a new database file and importing
everything from the old to the new. Access can often fix corrupted things
like tables during in import. If something won't import, that thing is badly
corrupt.

2. During the cut and paste you may be introducing leading or trailing
spaces. The data looks the same, but isn't.

3. Is the data type for the last two fields number or text? Numeric
characters in a text field are sorted differently than actual numbers.
