Hi,

Can anyone explaing the concept of a cross tab query and
how it is used???

Plenty of info in Access Help which should be your first source of
information on Access.
 
The Northwind sample has a crosstab "Quarterly Orders by Product" that total
sales by Product (row heading), Customer (row heading), and Quarter (column
heading).
