(Access97 required by an application): A form reads the
1st & last dates then via a macro opens a report based on
a crosstab qry with 'Column Heading'= the table "analysis"
field which could be ANY chem analysis requested over the
selected time period (ex. Cu,Ni,Fe,pH,+100 mesh, Moisture,
etc). Types of analyses requested change constantly. The
form inputs the 1st,last dates & the user displays either
the crosstab query -datasheet view ("Analysis=Group
by,Column heading"; "Analysis data=First,Value"; column
heading = ALL types of analyses requested during the time
frame with the results of each analysis for a specific
sample listed below)or a fixed column report (also based
on the crosstab query; I chose only the most requested
analysis types [=column headings] with the analyses' data
listed below the appropriate analysis).
Input form ->XT Query:displays ok for the selected dates.
Input form ->Report: "the MS Jet database engine does not
recognize qrySmeltdate as a valid field name or
expression".
qrySmeltdate=query name."Help" suggests I list all column
headings in desired order using "Column Headings property"
but I can't list an infinite # of column names ie.analysis
types). It states "MS Access lists all data values by
default" which is what I want.
Change to a select query-no problem.
