Cross tab query action

Access 2002 - I have a cross tab query that does not relate to numbers. I
want the entry to show a check mark or an X under the headings that are
appropriate for each row entry. In other words I want it to look something
like:

Member January February
1 x
2 x

How can I get this to happen?

Total: First
Crosstab: Value
