Critical Updates??

I received Microsoft's Security Bulletin listing MS04-007 and MS04-004 as
critical updates for Windows XP - yet when I go to Windows Update and have
it scan my system - neither of these come up as updates that I need. Why?
Shouldn't they be showing up - or do I need to download them directly?

Thanks!

You received it? How thru email? If it was from email its
a hoak. Your email was harvested (by not spoofing your
email and putting in your real email). Microsoft will
never ever send you an update thru the mail. If you got an
email then the attached files are virus's.
If you went to windows update and had it scan then your
system is up to date

No - they didn't send the actual updates! They sent me the Microsoft Windows
Security Bulletin for February 2004 with this link to the update section:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/winfeb04.asp

There were no attachments - I know better than to fall for that one!

These critical updates are listed at the Microsoft site - I'm just curious
why they aren't coming up when I do Windows update.

Open Windows Update.
Click "View Installation History" on the right side.
You will see if they are installed or not.

If not, just go get them at the links on the messages.

The original question was not answered and that was: why are the "critical
updates" mentioned here in this post not showing as being available for the
system when doing a Windows Update scan? My XP machines were the same way. I
found out about the update from a trusted person and then went to the
Windows Update site to download them and they were not showing as being
available for my machines.

Thanks

How can changing a font be considered criticle?
