Creating retrospective task

G

Guest

I'm trying to record tasks retrospectively in Outlook 2007 by selecting a
previous day, entering task details, marking as completed and setting
start/end date the same as the calender day selected but Outlook always
creates the task in the current day. This was possible under earlier versions
of Outlook. Some tasks are completed before they are entered and I just want
to maintain a record of these events. Can someone help please?

Are you using the Start Date button (or Due Date) and wiping a date range in
the little Calendar drop down? That will set both Start and Due date for
you.

Or are you flagging an Email and saying "Task" to us??

Hi Judy.

I'm in Outlook 2007 / Calender. I double click in the task section
underneath the calender day in which I want to record the task. The calender
day is any day prior to 'today'. I keep the start/due dates supplied and mark
as 'completed'. The task is accepted but shifted forward and recorded in
today's date. I want it recorded under it's original date.

It is not "recorded" in today's date - you are viewing it in a view of the
Calendar that shows it today. You can choose whether or not completed Tasks
show in the Calendar view you are in.

If you look at your Tasks Folder the Task will show the correct Start, Due
and Date Completed Dates.
