Hello,
Access 2003 (11.5614.5606)
Created database using 2003
Split database using database utilities 2003
Create MDE file using 2003…….I get the following:
“You can’t create ms Access ADE or MDE from a database saved in ms office
Access 2000 format……….
Convert the database to the current version of ms office access. Then create
the ADE or MDE fileâ€

I have upgraded from MS Office 2000 to MS office 2003 prior to using Access,
is this registry issue????

Regards,

Even though your software is updated, the default format for your database
will still be Access 2000. Go into your database, and do Tools/Database
Utilities/Convert Database/ and see if it will allow you to convert to the
Access 2002-2003 File Format.

Yes, it did allow me to convert the database. Is this something I have to do
to every database I design on this system? if so how can I change it?

You can set the default file format to be the new format. Look on the
Advanced tab under Tools | Options.
