Creating Child Domain

Dear all,

I want to make a child domain for HRD dept. I have one DC
in LAN and Additional DC in DMZ area for Exchange 2000. I
was change the port to allow DC in LAN to replicate with
DC in DMZ and it's works.

But when I try to make Child domain, there is an error:

The operation failed because:

The Directory Service failed to create object
CN=HRD,CN=Partitions,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=com.
Please check the event log for possible system error.

"The directory service is busy."
--------------------------------------------------------

When I check in Event Viewer in Directory Service folder
there are alot of error, one example:

Event ID: 1153
--------------------------------------------------------
Class identifier 1682189053 (class name msExchPublicMDB)
has an invalid superclass 1682189050. Inheritance
ignored.
--------------------------------------------------------

and another error:

Event ID: 1168
------------------------------------------------------
Error -1073741823(c0000001) has occurred (Internal ID
3000b3a). Please contact Microsoft Product Support
Services for assistance.
------------------------------------------------------

Could you tell me, where is the wrong?

Hi Cahya-

Do you have any domain controllers in your AD which have been removed, or
unsuccesfully demoted? If so, removing them per the article below and then
trying the DCPROMO again should help.

Did you ever solve this problem? I am experiencing a similiar problem.
I have a root domain, and have created 5 child domains, but when I tr
to create the 6th child domain I get the error stating:

The operation failed because:
The Directory Service failed to replicate the partition
CN=Schema,CN=configuration,DC=CDX,DC=2004 from the remote serve
revere.cdx.2004

"The remote procedure call failed"

Along with an event log entry of
Event ID: 1168, Source NTDS General
Error -1073741258(c0000236) has occured (Internal ID 3000b3a) Pleas
contact Microsot Product Support Services for assistances.

Any ideas? or did you figure out your problem, and maybe it relates?
