Creating an XML in Word

J

Jan Kratochvil

We are going to work on larger document - about 400 pages.
Five my colleagues will create the certain chapters. After that I will
import the text from Word files into the Adobe InDesign for creating the
final publishing.
For me is important to get from Word necessary information like style – this
is not the problem.
My question is about the using of XML data from Word files.
How is it possible to get form Word the simple exported structure for import
in my InDesign?
I am not able to create any XML file from Word so far.
I can save them like Word XML, but for me are necessary only tags with
Heading and Normal text style e.g.

Can you give me any advice how to do it?

InDesign doesn't need explicit (WordPerfect-type) "style tags"; the
style of a Word paragraph will either be replaced by the same style in
InDesign, or will be added to the InDesign style catalog, or will be
replaced by some other style -- according to how you set the InDesign
import parameters.
