Creating a virtual cd-rom drive

Would I like to create a virtual cd-rom drive where its contents consist of a
directory on my hard drive?

If it possible? If so, what program would you recommend?

Alcohol 120% or daemon tools. depends on what files you want to mount

Does it need to be a virtual CD rom? Like an ISO?
(Many apps that do this - DaemonTools comes to mind immediately.)

Or can you just use the built in SUBST command to give the directory a drive
letter?
