Creating a tally formula

I have a guy that is wanting a formula created so that he can tally ho
many people are going to be attending a golf tournament. He has all th
names in a column and all of the yes s in another. He wants a formul
that will count how many yes s there are above

I cant think of the formula to create. Can anyone assist?

if "yes" is in column B, then a formula that will work i
=counta(B2:B50), or however far down you need it. the formula wil
count the number of cells with any text in it. Also, you could use
=countif(B2:B50,"yes"
