Creating a Powerpoint show to run off a CD with music

I have created a PowerPoint presentation with approx 96 slides with
transitions set to music. Now I have to get it from my laptop onto a CD so it
can play through a projector onto a large screen in a high school auditorium
during five dance recitals. I don't know what the equipment is at the high
school yet (but they do it every year, this is my first) but tell me if this
is even possible and what do I need to do to make it work successfully. Past
years they have used a different program to create the show. I believe this
is the first time it has been done in PowerPoint. Thanks so much in advance!

You can use the package for CD option that comes with PowerPoint 2003/2007. Which version of PowerPoint are you using?

It was created in PowerPoint X for Mac but I can open it on a Windows PC in
PowerPoint 2003. Is there any particular instructions or special things I
should know so that I package it correctly? Thanks!

AFAIK if you can open it in 2003, and everything does what it does properly then you should have no problem using the package for CD option. I would use the Package for CD, and use the copy to folder option that is there. Then use your CD burning software to copy all the files to your CD.

Also, ask them if you can test this presentation on your laptop before the
actual event?

It may sound crazy, but please make sure that they have a computer attached
to the projector. If they are planning to put the CD into a DVD player, you
would have to convert your PowerPoint show to a video!

Best regards,
Ute
