Creating a form tabs

First of all thanks for any assitance. I am a self trained Access user.
I created the database from scratch (no template) I have downloaded some
Templates and obviously they look great compared to mine. My skill level
is pretty much novice. The form I use is for making calls and tracking a
prospect database.

It has too much information on the screen, I am interested in using the tab
function thing so I can have name addy phone # THEN a tab I can click
for a next page for that record, that would have other information for
contact
tracking etc THEN another tab for notes... Its simalar to the Setup that is
in Contact Management database template download

Also, I would like to be able to dial the phone using a smart button but I
dont know
how to set that up...

Any adivse would be much appreciated !!

Open your form in Design View and make it large enough to accommodate the
tab control that you want. Grab the tab control tool from the tool box and
add it to the form. Resize it to the dimensions you want.

Now right-click, just to the right of the existing tabs, and click Insert
Page to add each additional tab that you want.

Select the tab that you want first and put the label you want on it, then
select the controls that you want on it and cut & paste them on the page.
Make sure you paste them about an 1/8 inch within the tab's outer dimensions
or then will not be on that tab. Continue until you are done, then move the
tab control to where you want it, and resize the form to its final
dimension, and save it.

The phone button can be added using the command button wizard:

Click on Miscellaneous, then on Auto-Dialer.

Arvin,
Thanks I accomplished some of it. I created the 3 tabs using to tab tool.
I renamed the tabs. General Call Log and Notes However I have hit a
snag.
Whenever I cut and paste fields onto any of the Tab area, they appear on
ALL of them. My goal is to have some fields on each one of the tab pages..
Any ideas..????

Thank you very much .

One of the things you will notice when a tab paste is working correctly is
that the selection handles will appear inside the page of the tab. You can
force this by right-clicking on the tab and choosing paste.

If you add new controls from the Field List by dragging them onto the page,
the entire area inside those selection handles will turn black.
