Creating a custom task window....help

Outlook 2003
I have a user that has created a custome tab in a task and saved as a .oft
template file. The user wants to be able to click task + new and this oft
file automatically be the default screen with the additional custome tab.
Right now the user has to go to Tools+Forms+Choose Form +Look in = User
Templates, and click open on the oft file. Then a task can be added. Is
there anyway to make this oft file be the default task file? If not, is
there another way or any suggestions as to how we can get a cusomte tab in
the default task window? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Christi

Beginning with Outlook 2003 SP2, users can work with most .oft form templates files only by opening the template from the Tools | Forms | Choose Form dialog, browsing for User Templates in File System.

The article at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=907985 explains this change in more detail, suggests best practices, and provides registry keys that can return Outlook 2003 to the older, less secure behavior.

If you publish the form, as that article recommends, you can make a registry change to substitute your custom form for the default form. See http://www.outlookcode.com/d/newdefaultform.htm#changedefault .

FYI, there is a newsgroup specifically for Outlook forms issues "down the hall" at microsoft.public.outlook.program_forms or, via web interface, at http://www.microsoft.com/office/com...spx?dg=microsoft.public.outlook.program_forms
